About Spectra Audio

Spectra Audio builds room correction for the Mac. Measure your speakers with the iPhone you already own, and hear them the way they were designed to sound.

01 / What we build

Measured, not guessed

Every other Mac equalizer applies a preset. Spectra measures. It plays a test signal through your speakers, listens through your iPhone, and fits a correction to what your room is actually doing, in about ninety seconds and with no measurement microphone to buy. Headphones get calibrated profiles in one click, and a full parametric EQ sits on top for taste.

The audio plumbing is open source as CoreAudioTapKit. The measurement and the Prism:X engine are the product.

02 / How we work

Built to be trusted

Signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized. Not on the Mac App Store, because system-wide audio needs entitlements the store does not grant. Microphone audio is used only during a measurement, processed on your Mac, and never uploaded. Payments run through Polar, so card details never touch this site. The privacy policy and terms are written in plain language, and support is answered by the people who wrote the code.

03 / Company

Spectra Audio

Founded in Arizona by Cole Stanfield, a software engineer. Spectra is in public beta; the first 25 testers get Pro free through the founders program.
